Company Secretary

In India, 'The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)' is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries

The programmes imparted by ICSI at three levels are as follows:

  1. CS Eligibility Entrance Test(CSEET)
  2. Executive Programme
  3. Professional Programme

CS - Eligibility


A candidate passed / appearing in the Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination or equivalent thereto shall be eligible to appear in the CSEET

CS Executive Programme

Candidates must have passed the CSEET (CS Executive Entrance Test) for registration to CS Executive Programme.

*All Graduates/ Post Graduates who were hitherto eligible for registration directly to CS Executive Programme, shall also be required to pass the CSEET to become eligible for registration to CS Executive Programme

There are few category students who are exempted for the CSEET:

Candidates who have passed the CS Foundation Programme, ICAI Final Course and ICMAI Final Course are exempted from CSEET.

CS Professional Programme

  1. In order to apply for CS Professional programme, candidates must have passed CS Executive programme.
  2. Candidates must register at least six months prior to the month of examination to be allowed to appear in the module/s (any) of the CS professional programme
  3. It is important that candidates have undergone oral or postal tuition for the programme modules before appearing in the examination
  4. Those who were passed the "CS Executive Programme" is eligible for registration to "CS Professional Programme"

CS Executive Program

Note: The Accountant in Business (AB), Management Accounting (MA) and Financial Accounting (FA) exams have the same structure and syllabus as the Foundation-level Diploma exams (FAB, FMA and FFA respectively)
