CA course syllabus and system is subdivided into three levels such as Foundation level, Intermediate level and Final level. Each aspirant should initially register with the ICAI in order to appear for the entrance exam which is the CA foundation. Students also have the option to do a UGC approved regular online degree or private B.Com along with this programme.
CA Foundation as the name suggests is laying down basic inquisition in someone's knowledge. The CA Foundation course is to understand accounting principles and implications of the study on various kinds of accounts.
All the students who have appeared for the 10th examination are eligible to register the chartered accountant foundation course and students who have appeared for the 12th examination are eligible to attend the foundation examination. Although commerce stream students have the advantage in knowing the subject, students of science and arts stream are also eligible for the CA foundation exam and can apply with the same enthusiasm as they have the edge over commerce students because of their analytical approach.
CA Intermediate Course (IPCC) is the second level of the CA (Chartered Accountancy) course administered by the ICAI. The course is the term of 09 months and the exam is conducted twice a year usually in May and November.
There are two paths to become qualified for CA Intermediate exam.
Route 1: By clearing CA Foundation.
Join Intermediate Course after passing class 12th and Foundation Examination. Appear in Intermediate Examination on completion of 8months of study course as on first day of the month in which the examination is to be held. Join articled training after passing either of the Group or Both Groups of Intermediate Course and after successfully undergoing ICITSS.
Route 2: CA Intermediate through the direct entry route.
Once the candidates have registered for the direct entry scheme, they have almost one year for the exam. Students take 8 month study period time to prepare themselves after registering for the CA direct entry scheme in the month of Feb or Sept. Candidates need to go for the 4 weeks ICITSS training and 9 months of article training before the examinations. Candidates registering after graduation have to appear for the first group and both group exams after an 8 months study period. They require ICITSS training for a month. And, after clearing both the group's students can do practical training.
CA final is the last level to be cleared by the CA aspirant. The CA Final registration form can be filled by the candidates just after they pass groups.The IPCC level and the CA Intermediate. Candidates must finish their article ship which is compulsory according to guidelines of the Institute.

You can find professional opportunities in government and private organizations, in roles such as auditing, tax consulting, corporate finance, investment banking, corporate finance, investment banking, etc. You would also have the option to set up private practice after a few years of experience.
